IDSA Welcomes New Officers
Amid all the hustle and bustle of the 2007 State Convention for Activities, a new slate of officers was elected by the IDSA membership. The new leadership officially took office at the January 17, 2008 Executive Board meeting at Thornton Fractional North High School.
Taking the reins as President for a two-year term is Peter Geddeis (Niles West). Peter previously served as IDSA President-Elect, Secretary, IHSA Liaison, and webmaster.
Joining the IDSA leadership for the first time is President-Elect Greg Sherwin (Stevenson). Greg brings much experience to his role, having chaired the IDSA Student Leadership Workshop, and the 2007 IDSA Convention. In addition, he helped to found the IDSA's leadership partner, The Leadership Academy.
Continuing in her second year as Treasurer is Debbie Beagle (Vernon Hills). Debbie has ably served in this challenging position and has helped to revolutionize the registration process for both the IDSA Convention and the IDSA Student Leadership Workshop.
Also returning as an officer is Audra Christenson (St. Charles North). Audra begins her second year as Secretary, having served in leadership since joining the IDSA Board in 2006.
Continuing to provide leadership and to advise the current officer corps is Past President Therese McLaughlin (T.F. North). Therese served as IDSA President from 2006 to 2007. She has also served as IDSA President-Elect and IHSA Liaison.
