The IDSA LISTSERV enables members to share information in a relatively easy manner. We all manage activities and procedures and, thus, can benefit by sharing ideas with our colleagues at other schools. How we approach certain issues, organize events or solve problems differs greatly, and this diversity of experience is priceless. The LISTSERV allows individuals to post a question to the entire IDSA membership and to solicit a multitude of responses.

The advantages of a LISTSERV are incredible. The time it would take to find the right contact and to get an answer by phone — regardless of the question — could take weeks. The LISTSERV provides a very effective and efficient gathering of feedback.

IDSA members are not required to reply to LISTSERV questions. However, it is important that we support one another and reply when possible. The curious member will certainly appreciate it. Responses are posted (by e-mail) to the entire LISTSERV so that all members gain by learning from the dialogue. Many times, questions have been asked in the past, but the constantly changing atmosphere of education inevitably leads to different answers over time.
